Documenting Appointment "No-Shows"
If patient does not show for his/her appointment, click on the blue, circled arrow to the right of the patient's name as if you were going to check-in the patient, but instead of check-in, click “Cancel or Reschedule Appointment.”
Then, select “Patient No Show” for reason of cancellation and include any relevant details under “Note/Reason.” If you are able to reschedule the patient’s appointment at the time of cancellation, click “Reschedule.” If not able to reschedule, please click “Cancel Appointment.”
Because the no-show documentation process removes the patient from the schedule, on the next screen, please select “create appointment tickler” (this notifies office staff that the patient needs to be rescheduled).
Next select the correct clinic under both department and provider. “Approximate date” is when the tickler will appear, so please indicate TODAY and include under “Notes” reason for appointment and any other relevant information.
